CAMP EXTREME BLESSING 2022

Camp Extreme Blessing was offered to a group of 50+ athletes on January 4, 2022. The process presented to these athletes was a four tier process consisting of six weeks each. Each tier had a set of goals some predetermined and some the athletes set for themselves. One of the predetermined goals was that there would be absolutely no electronics allowed on the trip. As each tier was completed the numbers declined until the last tier was completed. At the end of the fourth tier, there were 21 athletes that had completed the tiers successfully. When the final invitation to attend the camp was offered some had family conflicts and some chose not to attend if they could not take their electronic devises. There were 11 athletes who took advantage of the Extreme Blessing and committed to attend the camp. The camp was held at Camp Akiva near Emory, Texas. The camp was attended by the 11 athletes, 3 coaches and 5 male mentors. During the camp the athletes were challenged in low and high rope challenge courses, multiple interactive sessions, small group devotions and processing opportunities, swimming, creative games, and black light dodgeball. There were three sessions offered on leadership principles found in I Samuel 16 & 17. The final Extreme, Extreme Blessing for this group was the opportunity to experience Texas De Brazil Steakhouse. We spent nearly 3 hours eating, laughing and enjoying each other during the final evening together.

We are now 5 months removed from the camp and these 11 young men have stepped up to be leaders on their football teams and are making an impact on the field and in the classroom. Of these 11 young men, 9 are on a varsity team and are headed into the first round of the playoffs as the number two team in the district.
